E Cars Hawaii, is a website by E Cars Hawaii here in Oahu, Hawaii. we have created this website to compliment our primary website at www.ecarshawaii.com. E Cars Hawaii has set out from the beginning to be a responsible used car company. With our roots in the solar industry we set out to sell Enviro Cars. Hawaii creates many challenges for the forward thinking individual. We have persisted and succeded by we have moved into vehicles other that just Hybrids and Bio-Diesel. With Car Loans Hawaii you will see our cars listed at retail. We have to do this for a reason. It is a starting price and is always negotiable. We can potentially drop $1,000s off of the advertised price for our cash and Pre-approved financed customers.
The reason you now see retail pricing at E Cars Hawaii is due to the cost of offering financing to our customers. The problem is that the financing company needs to get paid. When you finance through a dealership you are adding one more middle man to the profit picture. Now one more company needs to get paid to do business with the car. The finance company needs to take some money upfront just to lend the money. These are call aquisition fees and discounts. Aquisition fees are usually a set price assessed on every deal. Discounts are calculated based on the customers risk profile. And these Discounts can vary wildly. The lowest Discount is usually around $300 and can go up to about $3,000. Yes, $3,000. And this Discount comes out of the dealer's profit.
Now you can see why we have to start at Retail Prices. If we start with our standard $1,000 mark up that E Cars Hawaii is famous for and the customers credit is not that good we will get into a bad spot. If the Finance Company decides they want $1,500 to finance the deal and we only have $1,000 profit we can't sell the car. If we do we loose $500 Dollars. Or we would have to raise the price of the car by $1,500 just to get to our usual $1,000 profit. But how would you feel as the customer if I turn around and tell you I can sell you the car you want but we have to raise the price by $1,500. You would not be very happy. Most people are looking to reduce the price of a car not increase.
So, if we start at retail pricing, we have flexibility. If the customer's credit is great and they have a good down payment we may be able to lower the price and get better monthly payments. But if the customer has some challenges with their credit history then we still have room to finance the car and make money as long as there is an adequate Down Payment.
